“Black Dog” New Single by Arlo Parks

I’d lick the grief right off your lips

South London born, Indie/bedroom pop artist Arlo Parks (19) opens the start of her new single ‘Black Dog’, the most brutally honest song of 2020 yet.

Sometimes it seems like you won’t survive this / And honestly, it’s terrifying

The song tells the story of trying to help a friend through depression – or “Black Dog” named after Winston Churchill’s term for depression.

“In terms of the topic and the message of the song, I’ve been glad to hear that it’s been helping people out who have been finding quarantine difficult,” Arlo stated in her interview with NME.

“People who are stuck inside and feeling quite low. I’ve had lots of messages from people saying that it’s helped them, which has been so wonderful.”
